HDD Utility Disc (PlayStation 2)

HDD Utility Disc is software to format a hard disk drive for use in a PlayStation 2 console, in conjunction with Network Adapter. It only works with the official PlayStation 2 40GB HDD unit. It makes the HDD appear in the PlayStation 2 Browser on the same screen that game discs, video DVDs, music CDs, and Memory Cards appear.

The disc allows for the following:

• Optimize HDD (defragmentation/partition and MBR checkup)
• Diagnose & Repair HDD (basically fsck/chkdsk for the HDD)
• Format HDD (this option will also install the updated browser)
• Install HDD Software (installs Browser 2.00 allowing the PS2 to access the hard drive in the browser)
• Install DVD Player Update 3.02 (installs to PS2 memory card)
